Getting from Delhi to Jaipur - 2007/03/09 09:10 I'm flying into Delhi next week and after a few days there, plan to go to Jaipur.

Whats the best way to get there.... i have been told that there are plenty of trains and buses available. Which is more convenient and provides a better view of the country-side?

Re:Getting from Delhi to Jaipur - 2007/03/09 09:14 I would suggest you take a bus. Its far more convenient than a filthy train ride.

You get great clean buses (there's a bus virtually every 45 minutes all day!) from a place called Bikaner House in New Delhi near India Gate.

These are government buses but surprisingly, they are well-maintained and safe. You are sure to get a comfortable ride and whenever you get to Bikaner House, you will have a bus waiting for you.

Spiderman's suggestion is quite accurate. Though there are good trains available also, they are not as frequent as the bus services.

They even give bottled drinking water free on the bus!

Bikaner House contact details:
Pandara Road,
Near India Gate (this is a very popular location, every cab driver knows it)
Tel: +91-11-2338-3469

Did You Know...
In 1876, Jaipur dressed itself pink to welcome Prince Albert and Queen Elizabeth II, and thus the name “Pink City” stuck to it. Even today, many people, paint their homes pink to maintain the 'pink' look on the city.
